This product contains BOTH sugar and sucralose. I'm sure the sucralose is the culprit of the bitter aftertaste reported by other reviewers. Personally, sucralose makes me sick, so I'm very disappointed by this product.

I agree with the reviewers that this hot chocolate tastes watered down but I only found this to be true after adding the milk component. If you desire a stronger flavor then don't add the milk disc. But I would recommend that the manufacturer design the milk discs to use less water. As for its sweetness, it's not too sweet and that's how I prefer it. I'm not a big fan of sugary hot chocolates.

I agree with the majority of the reviewers -just wish I had read them before buying the product. When I saw that it was a "Product of Germany" I was expecting superior German quality. I was sorely disappointed! I did notice that quite a bit of the chocolate syrup is left in the disc, and will follow the other reviews' advice to open it up and add it to the cup. I had to doctor this drink with about a heaping teaspoon of Hershey's cocoa powder, frothed into a little half and half, and added it to my Milka to create something worth drinking. I would really suggest that the manufacturer fix the problem of the syrup not brewing completely, and also suggest a cappucino style creamer instead of the tiny one that it comes with.

I'm always having my nieces/nephews over and this is perfect for them. They can even make it themselves. Try a little caramel in it or a few miniature marshmallows. It's so good!

I honestly don't understand some of the poor reviews this product has received from some others. My experience has been just the opposite.
This hot chocolate has a full, rich flavor and is one of the best I've ever had, regardless of the source.
Someone commented that a lot of chocolate syrup is left in the T-Disc after making the drink, however my T55 leaves only a tiny drop. Perhaps that is the difference in the taste. All I know is that my whole family loves this hot chocolate.
I'm ordering more right now.

I was very disappointed with this t-disc. It tasted like watered down hot chocolate even if you hold the button down longer for the chocolate disc.

this hot chocolate tastes great and is of course quick and easy to make with the tassimo brewer. I orginally read over reviews and was discourgaged; but was convinced to try it at work and found that it was not watery or weak by my standards. Shaking the T-discs does help and also doing the chocolate first helps as well. Hope this review helps :)

Very disappointed in this beverage. Made for my 10 year old nephew and he didn't even finsih it, said it tasted watery. I tried it and have to agree, watery taste even after stirring, won't buy again.

I have actually found that if you stir it after its done (which I know you shouldn't have to do), it tastes a lot better. I at first thought it was too watered down also, but after I stirred it I loved it.

The Suchard is slightly better.
But this one is more watery than the Suchard.

We are not much of a coffee drinkers we here just for Hot Chocolate lol.
No, seriously, we do drink latte sometimes, love Chai but Hot Choc is our favorite. I find it sometimes too sweet so I'm doing it with double milk (2 T Disks) or with Cappuccino milk - double trouble that tastes great. Kids love it too. Now I'm putting it on auto delivery.

Having both brands of hot chocolates, I must say that the Suchard is head and shoulders above this offering from Milka. First and foremost, I did all of the suggestions by the other reviewers like brewing the milk first to warm the brewing unit before brewing the hot chocolate. I have warmed the t disc of hot chocolate under hot water also before brewing, but nothing can help the flavor. Which is lacking for the most part. Trust me when I say, don't waste your dollars on this, rather purchase the Suchard hot chocolate.

The deep chocolate flavour is really lacking. There is a strong aftertaste for sure with the product that is not pleasing. The drink tastes too sugary as opposed to letting the chocolate flavour be more pronounced. The amount of product is small -- good for a child's size cup, and they may not really care one way or another for the taste per se, but as an adult, even the powder mix's can taste much better then this product. Too bad, because Milka is such a great chocolate bar. Perhaps just buy a bar and melt if yourself with milk?

Very disappointed - I ordered this when the Suchard was not available, and the flavor was not near as strong or as good. I would not drink this by itself, and after a couple of attempts, poured out my coffee when I tried using it for my mocha as well.

I really like this hot chocolate. However, the brewer does not get all of the chocolate out of the disc. I have to take the disc out after and poke holes in it with a fork to drizzle all of the remaining chocolate over my drink and then stir it (and there is quite a good amount left over in the disc!! ). Once I started doing that, I felt the chocolate flavor became a lot better & stronger as it tasted a little bit too watery before to me.
Would I recommend it? Yes and no. It just all depends on each person's individual taste buds. I go through that extra step to make it taste what I feel is better, even though it's a pain.

The Trick

The trick to getting more chocolate out when the hot chocolate brews is to warm the disk, upside down, in the microwave for 5 seconds. It makes the chocolate more "liquidy" and the water flushes more out. This is what I do with the Suchard, anyway.

I wanted to try something different for my machine, especially with the upcoming winter months. It does have a nice aroma with a touch of sweetness, felt kind of smooth. But pretty week. This can provide a nice base for adding hot chocolate powder, but I wouldn't drink it alone. Not sure it's worth the price just b/c it needed a fair amount of doctoring to get it closer to what I'd expect of hot chocolate.
